The HL-H is a handheld fiber laser welder in 1.5, 2 and 3 kW versions, with a built-in wire feeder and optional cleaning and cutting nozzles. It welds stainless steel, carbon steel and aluminium sheet faster than TIG, with less distortion and a weld bead that needs little finishing.

Highlights

  • Faster than TIG

Higher travel speed on thin sheet.

  • Less distortion

Low heat input keeps thin parts flat.

  • Easy to learn

    New welders become productive quickly.

  • Wobble welding gun with safety interlock

  • Single or double wire feeder

  • Cooling:

  • 3000 W handheld laser welder version; 3-in-1 laser welder: weld, clean and cut

  • For dedicated rust removal and cleaning before welding, see the HL-CL laser cleaning machine

Frequently asked questions

Is handheld laser welding safe?

Handheld laser welding is a Class 4 laser process. It is safe when operators use certified laser safety glasses, the work area is screened with laser curtains and the gun interlock is used correctly. We supply a safety guide with every machine; check local regulations before use.

How thick can a 2 kW handheld laser weld?

Handheld laser welding vs TIG: speed, quality and cost?

On thin and medium sheet a handheld laser welder travels faster than TIG, puts less heat into the part and causes less distortion, so less grinding and straightening. TIG remains more forgiving on poor fit-up and very thick sections. Speed ratios and running costs depend on material and joint.
